Irrigation Technology
& Water Conservation

Water conservation is important to us at Common Ground Irrigation. We must work together to protect valuable water resources. Modern technology has improved the irrigation industry’s efforts toward water conservation in several areas.

Drip irrigation releases water directly to the roots of plants at a slow rate, thus eliminating misting due to wind and minimizing water runoff.

Rotary spray nozzles with pressure regulated heads eliminate misting and overspray, while producing heavier water droplets that make it down to the ground level, rather than evaporating in mist or
blowing away in the wind.

Smart controllers allow for adjusted system settings based on real-time weather data so the landscape is only watered when needed, thus minimizing the water waste.

Common Ground Irrigation is committed to water conservation. Montie Koch is an EPA Water Sense Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor and can help you conserve water and lower your water bill.

Irrigation Licensing

Irrigation licensing in Texas is required by state law. Anyone installing, repairing, designing, or consulting on an irrigation system is required to have a valid license. A valid license requires one to be trained and pass a state exam, to get Continuing Educational Credits, and to pass a criminal background check. TCEQ is the state regulatory agency responsible for regulation of the irrigation industry.
